You may have a great clip but you want to split it up and use a part of it in the video and another part of it in a different part of the video. By splitting a clip, that is possible.
Keep trimming the video until you have exactly what you want
With trimming, you can keep doing it. And if you trim it too much, you can always expand it back by using the same technique you used to trim it (just move your cursor in the other direction).
How to trim your video:
Open your video in a project
Jump into the clip that you want to trim
Cut off the front or back end (or both) of the clip
Simply grab the end of the clip-- either the front end or back end-- and move the edge to shorten or expand the clip
Split your clip when you need to in order to cut out the middle part of a clip
Want to cut something out that’s in the middle of the clip? Use command x to split the clip at a certain point and then you can trim either of the clips

You can undo a video trim at any time. All you need to do is move the edge of the clip in the opposite direction of how you initially trimmed it.
